Babymoon to Apache Lake, AZ

Our babymoon coincided with our third wedding anniversary and Reef's birthday. We wanted to recreate an adventure like our honeymoon from the camper, and go somewhere Reef would be stoked. Brandon picked a place on a map that we'd never heard of, and no one we knew had ever been there.

We took off for the Apache Trail outside of Phoenix, through the Superstition Mountains.  It's regarded as one of the most scenic drives in the United States. The 40-mile dirt road is recommended for high clearance vehicles only, but after our adventures through Baja, it felt more like a washboard road that any car could handle.

The drive out was beautiful, and we made great time.

Our campsite was on Apache Lake, and only $6 a day. There were plenty of migratory birds to hang out with, and the thunderstorms were awesome!

For our anniversary gift, Brandon bought us a two person inflatable kayak from Amazon. We took it out everyday and it was perfect to explore the lake with. The swimming was cold but refreshing!

Reef LOVED the lake. It was hard to keep him away.

35 weeks pregnant! Can't wait to meet the grom!
